My Story
Hi! I'm Sarah Alma Angelle (formerly "Marchand," in case there's any confusion). I started acting in my teens as a way to combat my social anxiety. The anxiety never left, but neither did my love for performing. Most of my experience is in theatre, but since the pandemic I have shifted my focus to film.
Stylistically, I'm fascinated by the weird and wacky: In 2016, I founded alma matters productions, a company that prioritizes new Canadian work from underrepresented communities.
I hold a BFA in Theatre and English Literature from Concordia University and an MA in Performance Studies from The University of Toronto. I am the recipient of the Hnatyshyn Foundation's Emerging Artist Grant in Acting, was nominated for The Second City's Tim Sims Award for Best Emerging Comedian, and was recently awarded The Arts Club's Bill Millerd Artist Fund for Producing.
As a bi-coastal artist my goal is to continue networking across Canada. Let's collaborate?
